Telugu Desam Party 'Tickets Bonanza' To All Loyals For Election 2014

In Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party initiated to allot the seats on the basis of loyality points gained by its leaders during the previous performance in party activities. The party leadership exercised the loyality, obediency, perfectionalism, dedication and leadership parameters to select the candidates for forthcoming general elections. 

With less than a year for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, senior leaders in Telugu Desam are vying with each other seeking tickets for their progeny.

Already the party has given tickets to couples like Kothakota Dayakar Reddy and his wife Seetha (both are MLAs from Mahbubnagar district), Adilabad MP Ramesh Rathod and his wife and Khanapur MLA Suman Rathod and brothers like K E Krishna Murthy and K E Prabhakar (both MLAs from Kurnool district), late K Yerrannaidu and K Atchannaidu (Srikakulam district), N Chandrababu Naidu and N Ramamurthy Naidu (Chittoor district).

Now father-son combine is added to the list with senior leaders asking tickets for their wards and the most prominent among them is Chandrababu Naidu’s son Lokesh, who is reportedly planning to contest from Chandragiri in the next elections.

Even Nandamuri Balakrishna wants to contest the Assembly elections either from Gudivada or Penamaluru in Krishna district.

Similarly, Nagari MLA and party’s deputy floor leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu is seeking ticket for his son Jagdish for Nagari and he wants to contest either from Palamaner or Madanapalli. If it is not possible, he would step down in favour of his son.

Armoor MLA Aleti Annapurna wants a ticket for her son A Mallikarjuna Reddy in Nizamabad district while Rajya Sabha member Tulla Devender Goud is trying hard for a ticket for his son to contest from Uppal Assembly segment.

Tandur MLA Patnam Mahender Reddy is lobbying for his brother Surender Reddy, who is in charge of Pargi Assembly segment and the party may field his wife Sunitha from Chevella Parliamentary Constituency.

Ibrahimpatham MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy wants Secunderabad Lok Sabha ticket for his son Prashant Reddy and Kodangal MLA A Revanth is planning to contest from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency and has already reserved his Assembly seat for his brother Tirupati Reddy.

Former minister Dadi Veerabhadra Rao is likely to be fielded for the Anakapalli Lok Sabha seat while his son Ratnakar, who is in-charge of Anakapalli Assembly seat, is likely to contest for the Assembly.

Another senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, who has been elected as MLC ;ast month and who represented Tuni Assembly segment in the past, is seeking Assembly ticket for his brother this time.

Ironically, Telugu Desam’s patriarch N T Rama Rao opposed dynasty politics in the beginning but succumbing to family pressure, allowed his sons-in-law to play key roles in the party.

Though his eldest son Nandamuri Harikrishna was driving him all over the state before Telugu Desam made history by winning the Assembly elections in 1983, he was never seen in public life for many years.
